Wayne turns 2

10-11-12

I am the most excited stage mom on earth!
It's not my birthday today.
It's my baby boy's 2nd birthday! (yeah, baby pa rin sya :-))
And I'm having a blast.
There's no party at all today, just a plain family bonding.

Being a modern-day-mom myself(well,I'm not so sure how others would define a modern-day-mom, but for me she is a working mom that could do either mothering, earning, & all other impossible task on the most impossible time she could get) I filed SL yesterday in the office (Sinungaling Leave, yes! haha.) I wish I could file a BL (Birthday leave),but I just turned a year older last month, so crossed-fingers when I asked my Boss if I could be absent this day,on the contrary it's my son's birthday. :-) And I don't know what gets into me that I have to turn this day into my non-working day & just wanna have fun! Well, mother's intuition I guess, predicting that this day would be a oh-so-goody-day for all of us! Plus the fact that I want to make it up & erase the bad memories of his failed 1st birthday celebration last year, which I blamed myself so much for not giving him a good 1st kiddie party. One of my dilemmas.:-(

But God was so good for keeping the clock going, it was another 365 days round, and everything turned out different from the latter years. I just considered this year a fruitful year, yeah (thanks for the sales commissions, Bro!),I can party after working hard.
SO off we go..Warvie, I, birthday boy Wayne, little Venice & my bro Chris(who played Yayo for the Day)

We headed to Divine Mercy Chapel hoping to attend a weekday mass, unfortunately, we were late for the morning mass but too early for the noontime mass.We just kneel & took time to pray & thank God for happy days like this. At least, we brought Gabb inside the church & hey, I'm proud to say that he knows how to pray already & he recognizes holy images.
Then we headed next to Mall of Asia, only to find out that we were too early, again, for the kiddie rides along San Miguel by the Bay. It was 10:30am, okay, waley. Hello mall-openers! haha..We took our brunch in the most affordable & tasteful (& sinful rice-unlimited) MANG INASAL. we looooveee! Bakit ba? Unli-rice & soup, with big pecho, not baaadd!! After filling-up our tummies, we gave all the remaining time for the jolly celebrant. Photos attached below will explain all the good time he had on his ver day:

happy weekend, mga echos! :-)

The Birth of a 27-year-old Mom

No matter how you party hard last night & you feel sleepy, tired & totally lazy, you have to get up early, feed your children, bathe them, prepare food, wash dishes & feeding bottles, send kids to the nanny before going to work; put on your make-up, dress up & look presentable, and then you rush to the office where everything is on "rush", run errands, assist the agents & your boss, etcetera; in short, you face the real world; and then you almost forget that it's your birthday. :-) But that's life, no exemption, no pause, no break, especially if you're a mother, and a wife, and a breadwinner (at times).
Well, no regrets at all coz I unconditionally love my two kids, I love my family & I love what I'm doing. I guess, I'll be doing this until I reach the age of 30, 40, 50, 60 & if God allows me to celebrate birthdays like a hundred years, I'll be happy doing the same good things I've done before. And will be forever grateful for the life He gave me.

Thank you Lord for the 27 years of my life, I know I didn't hit the perfect button, I didn't get the jackpot prize, I didn't won the championship, I just got what I want & I know you just gave what I need, & sometimes it's more than enough. THANK YOU for always reminding me that life is UNFAIR & that I  need to deal with it! In that way, I became more stronger, more patient, more hardworking, more powerful & mostly beautiful! HAHAHA.

Last year I said I consider myself a WOMAN, now I consider myself "a wiser & a stronger woman". Again, Thank you Lord for the advance blessings that you will shower me soon (I am positive that you will give me more blessing & happiness)!

Love lots,
NICA, happy & wiser at 27

The Prayer of a Child

The prayer of a child
is often answered.
It is answered
because it is pure.
It is answered
because it has no fear.
It does not think about the past,
it does not worry about the future.
It is not ashamed to express the truth,
it is not ashamed to express how it feels.
The prayer of a child
goes right up to heaven,
unto the ears of God
who hears it,
because it wants to be heard.
The prayer of a child
is answered
even before it has been uttered.
It was answered
when the child started to pray
with her heart.

All about PREGNANCY & BABY

This blog side of mine will tackle all about my first-hand experiences during my pregnancy, from conceiving to baby kicks up to the greatest day of my delivery. Let me have the joyful writing of sharing with you the greatest moments of my life as a Mother.

(BLOGS will be published soon)

I have copied & pasted some related facts about pregnancy. This might be helpful & informative to Moms & soon-to-be-moms.

Pregnancy and Hair Loss

Approximately 90% of your hair is growing at any one time, while the other 10% enter a resting phase. Every two to three months the resting hair falls out and allows new hair to grow in its place. Telogen effluvium is the excessive shedding of hair that occurs one to five months following pregnancy. This is not uncommon, affecting somewhere between 40 to 50% of women; but like most changes during pregnancy, it is temporary.

Is there abnormal hair loss during pregnancy?

Hair loss that is connected to pregnancy usually occurs after delivery. During pregnancy, an increased number of hairs go into the resting phase, which is part of the normal hair loss cycle. This condition is not serious enough to cause bald spots or permanent hair loss, and should begin to diminish within 3-4 months after delivery. If you feel that you are experiencing unusual hair loss while you are pregnant, this may be due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

Why do people talk about hair loss and pregnancy?

The most common period of hair loss occurs approximately three monthsafter delivery. The rise in hormones during pregnancy keeps you from losing your hair. After delivery, the hormones return to normal levels, which allows the hair to fall out and return to the normal cycle. The normal hair loss that was delayed during pregnancy may fall out all at once.
Up to 60% of your hair that is in the growth state may enter into the telogen resting state. The hair loss usually peaks 3-4 months after delivery as your hair follicles rejuvenate themselves. As noted before, this hair loss is temporary and hair loss returns to normal within six to twelve months.

Can hair loss be related to other reproductive health issues?

Hair loss can be triggered by anything that involves a change in the estrogen hormone balance in your system. Hair loss may result from any one or more of the following:
  • Discontinuation of birth control pills or any other hormonal type of birth control method
  • Miscarriage or stillbirth
  • Abortion
  • A hormonal imbalance

The Positive Side of Pregnancy and Your Hair:

During pregnancy there is an increase in the level of estrogen hormones. Estrogen causes hair to remain in the growing phase and stimulates the growth of your hair. While you are pregnant, you should expect a full luxurious head of hair.

Recommendations for Your Hair During Pregnancy and After Delivery:

There are a number of things that you might do to have healthier hair and/or reduce hair loss during pregnancy and after delivery:

A Pregnancy not so easy..

After 4 days amd 3 nights of staying in the hospital, I am stuck up at home now, still in bedrest, as per my OB-GYNE's adviced. At 29 weeks, or early 7 months, I had pre-term labor and my cervix opened by 2 cm very early, which is not normal & very risky, according to the OB-GYNE. I had slight labor pains & tummy contractions, which is normally felt during the 9th month of pregnancy or at the time of labor until delivery. In my case, Im at high risk of pregnancy because my exact date of 7th month will be on the 15th of March, meaning too early to deliver at this moment. The pre-term labor was also triggered by the result of my urinalysis test, I have UTI & the infection was very high. (Im sorry I don't know how to read the laboratory test result with medical terms & figures.I wish Im a nurse this time) But despite my ill condition, the baby inside my womb is fine, she's normal, the heartbeat, the position, except for the unusual kicks & hard movement which leads to unusual contraction. If I may compare the baby's movement right now tih Gabb's movement before when he was still in my womb, it was just the same. Gabb kicks harder & moves randomly during my 6th month up to 8th month. FYI, he is a pre-mature, he lacks 3 weeks. I guess, my babies were naturally hyper & strong, LOL ( at least I can still managed to laugh) Seriously, I was praying hard to keep everything in good condition, to keep me safe & the baby as well, to deliver my baby on the right due dte, so she would be in full term, healthy & bouncy. I pray that God helps us to stay strong & faithful despite all these matter. :-)

TUESDAY & I am Grateful

I think I should be grateful today. HAHA!
And for this morning na almost-bankrupt ang peg ng purse ko, but then I believe I have to satisfy my cravings or else, my last cent goes here - PANCAKE! Cross-fingers until tomorrow, coz it's month-end!

Thank you Lord for each & every day..

Love, love, love...

Wayne's PLAY DAY!

Feb. 26-  Sunday

You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing.  What!  Is it nothing to be happy?  Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long?  Never in his life will he be so busy again.  ~Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762

A bright Sunday it is, for the 3 of us (Warvie, Wayne & I) plus the presence of my siblings Angel & Chris, and our cousin, Jopay. This day was set for Wayne's day-out & playtime, as what his Papa promised to bring him to the swimball. (And that I have to ask people around me kung saan may swimball or playhouse for kids, kasi ang alam talaga namin sa Jollibee merong ganun) We're so excited to see  the little boy have fun & play like other toddlers do, coz he can appreciate toys, cars & playhouse now. Here we go, QUANTUM SHANGRILA! (Shangrila is just a 10-minute ride from our place, but No, we don't live in condo around the area, just nearby around Mandaluyong, hehe). The little boy was excited by hearing one of his favorite names "JOLLIBEE". I couldn't explain in words how a sight of excitement & jolliness he has upon hearing that famous BIG BEE. That's just our fake way to encourage him to dress up and go out of the house. (but he really likes going out of the house, always.) The playhouse is affordable, Php100 for 1 hour, not bad, but Warvie I both know that 1 hour of playtime for Gabb is too long, he might get too tired & sleepy so we checked-in Gabb for 30mins only.  Since I am carrying our 2nd precious right now (biggie tummy on my 6th month) & the Quantum staff didn't allow me to join Gabb inside the playground, & while his Papa & Tito Chris grab the chance to play also with the video games, it was his Tita Angel who accompanied him to the playhouse! BOO! HAHA! Thanks (Second-rate Mommy) Tita Angel, you're such a great yaya! Angel & Gabb played & joined the kids inside the playhouse, swam over the colorful balls, slide & ran, & got literally messy! haha. It was fun pala watching your child having fun! After getting tired of the playtime, we all deserved a great dinner - in KFC- where our budget fits our tastebuds, haha. No poshy resto this time, pang-maramihan kase. It was such a happy & relaxing Sunday for us! Aside from the fact that we were not able to attend the Sunday mass. We are guilty today. But still, thank you Lord for another HAPPY SUNDAY!

Ang mga bida! hehe
